Writing on Stone Provincial Park

Writing on Stone Provincial Park

My family and I had a wonderful
holiday camped in Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park on the Milk River. The park provides guided tours of the hieroglyphics; the river is great for swimming and leisurely canoe trips. As well, the hoodoos offer a historical "Flintstones" atmosphere, adding excitement to the trip.

Cypress Hills

Smack dab in the middle of the prairie grasslands, Cypress Hills rises up before you. It’s like driving into the foothills of the mountains, only it’s not the mountains. We camped in the well-kept provincial park, where wild turkeys walked through our site, a young moose nibbled on a bush as we hiked through the trails and we canoed on the peaceful lakes. My husband even tried his hand at fly fishing. It’s a magical place.
