My studies in art have taken me to Banff, Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, Victoria, B.C.; Ottawa, Ontario; Whittier, California; and Red Deer College. Since I received my BFA at Lethbridge I have been involved in ceramics and monoprinting, drawing and painting. My day jobs have been clerical and daycare but art has always been pulling me back. I also spent 14 years helping to build and sail a 36’ sloop yacht, so much of my inspiration has a marine basis. I also have a passion for the human face and have ventured into portraiture. I plan to take further studies in printmaking by purchasing an etching press and working to my heart’s content.

The variable weather with each passing season brought a kaleidoscope of colours from spring time greens and pink blossoms to fall’s sparkling yellows, golds and dusty greens. The joy of watching a sunrise or sunset still holds wonder; and the changing seasons always bring promise for new pictures to paint.

My husband and I own a Strawbale Studio , Gallery and Giftshop, where we work on our art and teach courses in the art forms we produce. For sale and on display are our works as well as other local artist's work.
My husband teaches Digital Photography courses and I teach clay, watercolor painting, oil painting, acrylic, drawing and fabric sculpting.
The studio 's motto is "anything to do with art can happen here"
From September to April the Studio hosts musicians and the studio turns into a cozy coffee house . Available during the school year, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are art classes for kids after school. Art Birthday parties can be booked.
In Summer, art camps for kids, teens and adult sculpting week. Fabric Sculpting courses are taught throughout the year all over Canada
Artist statement
The importance of friendship, respect for nature, my love for animals, observing peoples body language, shapes and expression are all things that will keep me wanting to paint or sculpt it. The stories and the images in my head are of figures , flowers, landscapes, animals and are reflections of my thought process.
