The Town of Vulcan is world renowned for its homage to Star Trek and Mr. Spock's home planet. You can have your picture taken at the Vulcan Starship and then visit the futuristic Vulcan Tourism and Trek Station with its gift shop and memorabilia collection. In addition the Trek Centre also provides local and provincial travel information for visitors travelling through Vulcan. We are now home to the Trekcetera Museum which displays authentic Star Trek and other movie memorabilia. On display in the downtown is a bronze bust of Spock and Leonard Nimoy?s hand print to commemorate Spocks (Leonard Nimoy) historic visit to Vulcan. Don?t forget to visit Vulcan during VulCon to enjoy all the Star Trek excitement.
Currently with a population of just under two thousand residents, Vulcan offers a variety of attractions for everyone. Vulcan offers an energetic downtown business center offering shopping and food services. We have a newly renovated and expanded local historic museum, the Solar Tree and have recently added a solar park to our downtown core, featuring the Nine in a Line Elevators.
There are a variety of recreational activities within the Town such as an eighteen-hole golf course, an outdoor six lane swimming pool with climbing wall, a spray park, outdoor volleyball court, skateboard park, a 5km paved walking path, Star Gazing Nights Skating Arena, Curling Rink and many more activities available throughout the year.
Vulcan also hosts a number of exciting events like the Sid Hartung Memorial Rodeo, Vulcan Show and Shine which includes a demolition derby and tractor pull, Annual Tin Man Triathlon, Spock Days, Vulcan Fly in Breakfast, and The Fall Fair.
