Pioneer Acres Of Alberta Museum
Visit Pioneer Acres Museum and experience pioneer life by exploring a blacksmith shop, a one room schoolhouse, farm buildings and a historic home. Go back in time to experience life on a farm and the production of food one hundred years ago. Check out vintage farming equipment that follows the history of agricultural development in western Canada from the original horsepower to gas and diesel. Enjoy a self guided tour at your own pace or ask the knowledgeable and friendly staff and volunteers for an educational and enjoyable tour. Hands on sensory learning is not just for children! Enjoy the smell of linseed oil inside a beautifully restored boxcar at the Grain Academy, listen to a model train chugging past or see for yourself the only replica of a Beef Ring in Alberta! The Grain Academy is now located at Pioneer Acres! The existing museum was located in the BMO Centre on the Calgary Stampede Grounds since the 1980s but that location has now closed and all of the contents have been moved to Pioneer Acres. All events are cancelled until further notice. For more information please visit their website.
