The Arboretum at Trochu

Founded in 1989 the Arboretum and Gardens at Trochu is a five acre forest garden in the middle of the prairies. Unique varieties of Pine, Spruce, Elm, Larch, Birch, Maple, Oak and Willow with many species of under story shrubs and trees are accessible by red shale pathways. Complimentary perennial and annual beds throughout the arboretum bloom from early spring to fall. From Dec. 15 thru to Jan. 1 every evening \ the Trochu and District Arboretum Society create a Forest of Lights, lighting the garden from the front gate to the Heritage garden at the rear of the property. Hot chocolate and a fire to warm you up at the end of the walk create a unique winter experience.
